Directions to Indian Springs State Park

To drive from the Atlanta Friends Meeting to Indian Springs State Park:

• Make a right (west) out of the Friends Meeting parking lot onto Howard Avenue.
• Continue for 2.6 miles (Howard Ave. changes names to become Dekalb Ave.), passing the East Lake and Candler Park MARTA Stations.
• At the overpass over Moreland Avenue (a double stop light), make a right at the second of two stop lights, and follow the curving on-ramp to intersect with Moreland Ave.
• Turn right to go south on Moreland (under the bridge).
• Drive 1 mile on Moreland Ave. until you reach I-20. Enter I-20 going West.
• At the interchange with I-75/I-85, follow signs for I-75/I-85 South.
• In about 4 miles, I-75 and I-85 will split. Stay to the left to continue on I-75 South.
• Follow I-75 southbound, until you reach Exit #205 to Jackson (Ga. Hwy 16).
• At the end of the off ramp, turn left and proceed on Hwy 16 East until you reach the town of Jackson. Pass through the town square on GA-16 and turn right at the Piggly Wiggly onto Ga. Hwy 42. It is 8.7 miles from I-75 to GA-42.
• Continue south on GA-42 until a juction with GA-87/ US-23 in 3.5 miles. Stay right on GA-42.
• In 1.4 miles, youÕll pass the first entrance to Indian Springs State Park (Sulphur Springs Rd) on your right. The next entrance (Lake Clark Road) will come almost immediately on your right. Do not turn here, either.
• To enter the Group Camp, pass the main entrance to the State Park (Lake Clark Road), pass Spring Road, and continue south on Hwy 42 until you reach the Big Chief gas station on your right.
• Turn right onto Cenie Road at the Big Chief.
• When Cenie Road turns to the left, stay straight on Group Camp Road, and youÕll see the gates to Camp McIntosh ahead of you. Enter, park, and go to the dining hall to visit the hospitality room where youÕll find your dorm assignment and other info.
